There’s really four parts, but give it a read-through.
I have several of these health issues. Anecdotally I’ve met a lot of people with long covid like me who are neurodivergent, which makes sense because these associated physical issues can put you at higher risk.
Agreed!
Ehlers Danlos is another common comorbidity that isn’t talked about that much.
I have a lot of the symptoms of this one as well. Have been in so much pain lately. I wish I could trade in this body for one that didn’t have knees that bent backwards and that kind of thing…
Connective tissue disorders were mentioned off in one corner
I kinda missed that diagram somehow…
What’s that?
Wait, hold on, all my life I’ve had this thing that mostly happens when I eat something that tastes very strongly, or when I touch something hot, but I’ll just make a sudden jerk movement that I can’t control. It’s sometimes quite a big movement, like knocking back my whole arm in a way that could hurt someone if they were standing very close. I always figured it was related to autism, but that might be a seizure? Wtf?
I have really prominent tics like that - a jolt moving through my neck and shoulder forcing me to twitch. Don’t think it’s necessarily a seizure though, sometimes a tic is just a tic. Are you mentally all present during and immediately after?
I am, it’s just a bit jarring. So it’s probably fine.
Yeah “grand mal” seizures involve your consciousness going away for the duration. What you’re describing is just like what neurotypicals (and all people with a sense of touch) experience when touching a hot stove. So the difference is that you have more sensations that qualify for the “hot stove” category.
