The nonprofit organization that supports the Firefox web browser said today it is winding down its new partnership with Onerep, an identity protection service recently bundled with Firefox that offers to remove users from hundreds of people-search sites. The move comes just days after a report by KrebsOnSecurity forced Onerep’s CEO to admit that he has founded dozens of people-search networks over the years.
Differentiating yourself on privacy and offering paid for tools for privacy that in reality make your privacy worse than if you did nothing at all. Mozilla keeps on bumbling towards inevitable demise.
I’ll get downvoted for saying that because of Lemmy’s demographic, but it’s true and deep down you all know it. Look at how Arc is innovating with new browser features. That’s what we always wanted Firefox to be doing, but Mozilla is content with sucking from Google’s tit.
