He had OK opinions about imperialism and the class divide. He said that alternative pronouns were “breaking the grammar”, lol! Who will think of the grammar!!!
I actually made an effort to change his mind as he’s still a teen. He said that his parents are really religious. I warned him that it’s gotta hurt to get his psyche out of that psychological hell.
I find that people who identify as things like “conservative socialist” care more about aesthetics than actual politics. Sorry, but not sorry.
You have more experience, but with the backstory this does sound like someone who thinks socialism is genuinely good, but has many many brainworms
In this instance, its a teenager right? So it makes sense that political identity is, at this point, mostly aesthetics and shallow understanding of politics, philosophy, and history.
