A portion of Austin, Texas was left without a single police officer for a couple of hours on Saturday, and the police union’s president is blaming a crisis of staffing shortages.

I have not been to Austin for about a year but it was sad little city. It smelled like urine, drug addicts roaming the street and crime was rampant. I am surprised Texas hasn’t done more to clean up its capital.
