I’m surprised WWII media is becoming popular again in Hollywood . Most people from that generation are dead and their children will be too pretty soon. The distance between now and 1945 is vaster than that between the end of the Clinton administration and the end of WWI.

its evergreen and cheaper than ever, literally every demographic from neocons to reds, less literal neo-nazis can watch a shoot nazis thing. it also reinforces the UK/US as good guys despite that being the literal last halfway decent thing these countries did

I feel like most hollywood liberals understand that the US has been the “bad guys” in every war since, so if you want to make some uncomplicated marvel-tier movies, WWII is the only real option.

At any rate, hollywood will make WW2 films as long as the public buys war films. WW2 is literally the only war where the US can say they were on the right side without presenting an upside down world.
