This is actually worse than the headline makes it out to be. It isn’t that they’ve set these targets to comply with the Paris agreement and they aren’t on track to meet them. The targets that they’ve set aren’t even sufficient, much less their execution of the targets.
This is very bad. And climate has already changed. I’m very pessimistic about whether the free market economy will be able (or even willing) to solve this problem.
Time to set even lower goals that you can actually fulfill then
