I appreciate that in this piece, the bullfighters and picadors are shown as a huddled mass exhausted and perplexed instead of triumphant. A picador’s horse lies dead in the background with the bull patiently waiting for their next move. The crowd a writhing mass on the background.
That second horse doesn’t look too healthy, either.
And the rider holding the lance looks as though he’s about to fall off the horse.
