It’s funny, I just got used to the idea that the CIA is not beholden to any laws.

Well, not really funny but ya know…

I mean – this is just a ruling. They still haven’t done anything yet. I’m not holding my breath.

Church comitte handed them a new asshole. They can’t get away with nearly as much now as they did in the 60s

You’d hope so, but it’s like every decade we have an article going "wow, look at all the fucked up shit the CIA was doing 20 years ago, isn’t it great they stopped?

Oh, they didn’t stop being bad. And what they do today is terrible.

But its less bad than what they did in thr 60s. That shit was batshit insane.

This is a case brought by 4 US citizens against the CIA. They are attorneys Margaret Ratner Kunstler and Deborah Hrbek, and journalists John Goetz and Charles Glass. They all visited Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian Embassy in the relevant time period ~2017 and claim their 4th amendment rights have been violated. I can’t wait to see this trial unfold! The evidence that will come out of this could well mean the end of the DOJ’s pursuit of Assange.

If so, finally. It’s terrifying that the US government has this much power tbh
