Hylians give me Nazi vibes tbh
Eapecially because in Tears of the Kingdom they make Zelda literally
spoiler
a descendant of a special god race
[Edit:](This is mostly a joke i don’t think ganon is good but you gotta admit making the good guys white blondes and the bad guy arab coded is sussy)
Listen, if this dude can make feel feelings I never thought I could possibly have then he is good in my book.
I mean who wouldn’t want to have their face sandwiched in between those goddamn tits man. LOOK AT HIM (safe-fw)
Oh my~
Nah Ganon did absolutely nothing wrong. The Hylians repeatedly pushed the Gerudo out into the desert and segregated them away from arable lands and easily accessible waters; and in a COUPLE timelines, outright genocided them after said pushing out into the desert. It was only a matter of time before a Twinrova or a Ganondorf happened, and this can all be walked back to King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule.
The sheer fact that it’s constantly the Aryan-coded people that’s the protagonists is a lot of why I stopped playing LoZ; but there’s also not an equivalent with even a lick of melanin so I’ve kind of given up on the whole genre
Imagine if we said that this detail about zelda was “political” or “reverse wokeness”, the entire internet would go malding.
Honestly, the problem with the Zelda series is that the story-telling hasn’t evolved since… Well, since the NES days, if you think about it (or at least the OoT/MM days).
I mean, it’s implied that the Hyruleans committed genocide against the Shiekah but nobody gives a shit.
Granted, I think Ganon is (objectively) bad (I’ve only just started TOTK) but honestly? He at least becomes more introspective and less violent by the beginning of Wind Waker, at least, meaning that he’s capable of evolving to at least some degree.
Not sure if you’ve seen this cutscene but this might change your opinion (spoilers, obv):

If the timestamp doesn’t work skip to 12m 10s.
This scene in particular makes the whole shinto creation myth vibe of TotK’s mythology really sus. I much prefer how BotW left everything more vague so you could build your own ideas off of it.

Okay, this is my fourth post, but you got me going here, @Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net:
A revolution in Hyrule could happen through a bourgeous revolution (or even multiple revolutions) first before arriving at a socialist one.
When they do arrive at such a revolution, they should, in my opinion, keep the Zelda bloodline since they may quite literally need a Zelda, so to speak. We’ve seen this being necessary quite a few times in the series. It may be even that the monarchy exists because the Zelda monarchy has been quite useful… So keep the Zeldas and inculcate the successive generations as good loyal socialists or communists, servants of the people.
oh so you want a British Royal Family situation? CURIOUS
Except the British Royal Family still has political power (and, not to mention, a vast amount of financial power and connections).
I was thinking that it would be a scenario where each successive is… Honestly? More like a “superhero,” called upon whenever there’s a great threat to activite the Tri-Force or repair it or seal a threat like Ganon away oruse the sealing power to fight other great threats.
Same with the successive Links.
So it’s really a Link situation, if you think about it!
Wait… This is getting out of hand…
Now there are two of them!
I can’t hold all these triforces
Gee, on another note, the Wii U sure has lots of games, heh, amirite, everyone?
I don’t know why anyone is complaining!

Also, see my other posts, @Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net
(Eh, I don’t know, unless you want to, ig)
They are all good posts lol
thnx!
Tbh, Ganon is a two-bit warlord.
But Hyrule is literally an absolute monarchy albeit with special rights and privileges to other races (well, it’s got the multiculturalism down, at least, so it’s kinda like the Ottoman empire before the 1800s…)
Regarding Hyrule, it doesn’t seem to be imperialistic (in the feudal sense) as it seems to be mostly secluded from other kingdoms, the few that may exist (like Styla, for example).
Domestically though, it still suffers from power struggles, rebellions, and wars, meanign that life is also clearly not ideal under the absolute monarchy that they appear to have had since, well, its founding over 10,000 years ago.
Honestly, I can go both ways, but Ganondorf would be a cheap solution to Hyrule’s problems.
Hyrule needs a socialist revolution so it can institute real democracy and representation within the country.
