This is pretty funny because a white CJ might make sense in a rural, southern setting (especially Appalachia), but it takes place in a hood in LA, so the story is just about a white guy who hangs out with black gangsters
At the time I thought, ”sure, you can make CJ white, but what about….everything else in the game? I don’t think someone who doesn’t want to play as black man is going to like the rap radio stations, black main characters, outright references to the LA riots, etc.”
I remember when the PC version of SA came out and almost immediately there was a mod to turn CJ white

IIRC there were mods to make the rest of the gang into white skinheads. Gmers being gmers.
