    So, more off label usage of semaglutide is inevitable. There have already been recent shortages. I have a family member that couldn’t get their prescription because there was none available. We need more drug companies making the stuff and competing in a fair market.

    The use of these drugs, to treat over eating disorders, has shown a large amount of those who take it end up being worse off, in terms of addiction to food, when they go off the drug. The effect of the drug on the brain leaves them, basically, unable to produce the brain chemistry that makes you feel satiation, leading to feeling like they are very hungry, always. On top of this these drugs have shown to have a lot of serious long term problems, major damage to organs, etc.

    If this is true for substance addiction, this presents a lot of major problems that really need to be understood before pushing this on to people with addiction disorders. The way in which it is being pushed to obese people is already reckless.
