Ugh it says 150 bus engineers… That’s 28,666 pounds each if they were to split the profit and they’re asking to make up the 3,000 a year pay increase to match inflation.

I rather fucking doubt much of the admin staff didn’t give themselves pay raises. But there’s a pretty big chunk of profit for people to have wages increased.

How much profit should a private business be allowed to earn then? If you ran this business what would be acceptable to you?

If I ran this business I wouldn’t accept pay higher than the lowest paid and all profit is theft from the working class. Only if the laborers desire for there to be profits should there be profits.

                That’s mighty admirable of you.

Did this article state what they were going to do with their profits? Were they going to line the pockets of the higher ups? Or maybe save it for a rainy day?

That’s not how profits work, the salary of employees (even executives) are taken before.

It’s also not admirable to want people to simply be paid what they were being paid and not getting pay cuts. If an employer doesn’t adjust your wage/salary for inflation you are being paid less.

Also, companies don’t save profits for a “rainy day” they use it to purchase other companies and expand wealth for investors.

I’m curious to know what company you can buy related to a bus transportation service for 4.3m? In some parts of the USA, a 3 bedroom single family house can go or that.
