Dolores Cacuango, also known as Mamá Doloreyuk, was a leader in the fight for indigenous rights in Ecuador born on this day in 1881. She was active in the Glorious May Revolution of 1944 and co-founded the Indigenous Federation of Ecuador (FEI).

Cacuango was born to enslaved people in San Pablourco who worked the Pesillo Hacienda near Cayambe without being paid. She had no access to education due to her lack of resources, and learned Spanish while working as a housemaid.

In 1930, Cacuango was among the leaders of the historic workers’ strike at the Pesillo hacienda in Cayambe, which was a milestone for indigenous and peasant rights. During the Glorious May Revolution in Ecuador, Cacuango personally led an assault on a government military base.

The same year, with the help of Ecuador’s Communist Party, Cacuango co-founded the Indigenous Federation of Ecuador (FEI), an early group in the fight for indigenous rights. She also helped establish some of the first bilingual indigenous schools.

some trans sex drive talks, questions about hrt and sex

So like obviously everyone’s different but I wanted to hear any thoughts the trans folk of hexbear have:

I can start HRT relatively soon but my partner and I have some concerns about how that could affect my sex drive when they come to see me during the holidays. I have what I can only describe as a really healthy “male” libido - I have times when I’m really horny, and when I’m not, I can usually get there pretty fast and easily. I guess you could call us both some degree of hypersexual? They’re pretty similar.

So of course I expect something there to change on HRT, but it’s really hard to imagine. As things are now, despite being generally horny, it is difficult to get off and really want it those occasions when I’m physically with my partner (it’s long distance). I chalk it up to dysphoria and being really aware of myself and my parts during sex. My partner understandably can’t help but feel bad and undesired sometimes - like they know what’s up and all; it still sucks sometimes. I think I’d be the same way.

I feel like things could be better on HRT even if it’s too early for any crazy physical changes, but it would really suck if somehow it’s worse than before. Like we can still have a good time and we’re doing pretty well with the challenges that already exist. It’s tough - I don’t really want to put this off longer but I also want to fuck and have fun, lol. Thoughts?

NFSW talk about sex drive and masturbation

I remember when I first started HRT a couple of years ago, my sex drive sort of disappeared over night, as my body was readjusting itself and getting used to the sudden high amount of estrogen. It eventually came back after a couple a months. This seems to be quite common from what I’ve gathered. My sex drive is also quite different from how it was pre-HRT. Back then, I’d have moments where if I felt horny, I wouldn’t be able to do anything else unless I took care of it. I also used to have moments where I couldn’t get past a single day without the urge to masturbate at least once or twice. It could get pretty exhausting at times. Now on HRT, I feel like I’m in control. No more random uncontrollable thoughts. I can pick my own moments, and decide to act when it’s convenient for me. I hope that makes sense.
