Currently, there’s a real possibility that a bunch of Republicans walk out on Congress and leave Dems with a functional majority by quorum. In that case, Jefferies gets the Speakership and we can do all the awful shit Dems want to do while still insisting there aren’t enough votes to do the good shit.

I’m sure they’ll shuffle some money around on the back end and Israel will end up with $14B bonus bucks somehow.
But the money still ultimately needs to come from somewhere. And $14B isn’t small change.
They could always temporarily set aside their differences to pass the bill under the leadership of the Speaker pro tempore, and then resume fighting.
