As a healthcare worker I hear this joke a lot and I just don’t care for it. It’s insensitive, unprofessional and rude. Yes we all get that “it’s just a joke, bro” but making light of vulnerable patients getting hurt is rotten behavior.

    I was fine with that joke when I was going through physical therapy. To be fair I broke a lot of my rules about doing things on my own. The first time I heard this is when I got out of my hospital bed by myself and into my wheelchair. It was kind of funny and I deserved it.
