Rhypsalis burchellii. Can somebody help me with this little guy? It’s loosing more and more branches. I put it in a warm living room, no change. I out it in a cooler room, nothing. I’m watering it about once a week and the soil dries in between.

I’ll go for over-watering. It’s cactus. The compost shoudl be bone dry before watering. Also make sure there is some grit in the compost to aid drainage

Wife is a flower lady and she says watering once a week is toooo much. Once every other week if even. Is your pot draining properly? Or retaining too much water?

I am far from an expert but it looks like overwatering to me. Over time I’ve realized more and more that it’s way better to underwater my succulents and cacti. Let it get really thirsty. Hold off watering 3 weeks or so and check it out again. It probably needs watering even less than that. It’s hard to just let it be but that’s my two cents.

The other comments have this covered but bare in mind that if you’re in the northern hemisphere we are heading in to the dormant season and it will require even less water.

Thank you. I thought I did let the soil dry but maybe not. I repotted it into some dirt mixed with some orchid bark stuff and I’ll water it less. In a few weeks I’ll know if that helped.
