uh oh this post made me realize I have used “they” in a neutral sense when I’m not even thinking of gender and wouldn’t want to upset anyone. I hadn’t considered that it might be upsetting, I guess I was thinking of “they” as neutral but had not considered this aspect enough.

I thought the best practice was using “they/them” if you have no way to know in advance or until you know preferred pronouns. That does depend on one asking or trying to find out someone’s preference however, which most ppl won’t. Here, the preference is right in the email address lol, and if they were uncertain they could always ask

or until you know preferred pronouns

Yeah once you know the pronouns and they / them isn’t one of them, it’s just straight up misgendering. They / them only works if these actually are the pronouns of the person in question, if it’s a plural or if you’re talking about unspecified / unknown people. In any other situation, it’s a no-go and only liberal swine will argue otherwise.

People will find reason to be mad about anything and everything.

Look at this “i get to say when you’re allowed to be offended” liberal shitting up the place. It’s not up to cis shits to decide how to gender us, go fuck yourself. If somebody HAS ALREADY STATED THEIR PRONOUNS, you use these pronouns and no others. Don’t give me this “oH iT’S aKsHuAlLy gender neutral” shit like some gaslighty British terf.

gotta love degendering. always framed as good practice. my country has had the category of “women*” the asteriks indicating all the other gender identities, ncluding trans women
