I been playing it and let me tell you, I got it last week because it had no pvp so I was like… not convinced but the pve is soo good and the mobs so fun and the AI is good that is super fun! our server is hispagatos let me know if you guys want to join and I can make the server 24/7
Is it good without friends?
Most of my time in it is alone, so yes!
I’ve personally had a lot of fun solo. It kind of depends on what you’re looking for. I imagine the progress is much quicker with a team, but I’ve had a good time just kind of shaping this world I’m in as I explore it and progress through the biomes. I’ve just got little unique homes littered and linked throughout the landscape and I think that’s really cool. It’s a really good podcast game and I don’t mean that in a negative way. I always like having a game that’s a little more open ended and without much story that gives me time to chill and listen to a podcast.
This is what I want to know. If it requires co-op team to complete stuff I am out. That’s why I like Borderlands.

I think it is much better with at least one other person. But the game is still very enjoyable solo. I think the only thing that is particularly awkward single-player is

hunting sea serpents
but that is optional anyways.
Bought it, but was unable to bind å, ä and ö so I was forced to refund it. If anyone knows a way to bind these keys on GNU/Linux then do inform me.
My question is, are the core gameplay systems slick in a fun way?
Minecraft is fun for example, I have played countless hours of it, but I always burn out on it because the core gameplay of combat and such is janky and unsatisfying.
The combat in Valheim is quite hard, far more interesting than Minecraft could ever be. Combat is a big part of Valheim and is “souls-like”. It’s challenging for sure and will certainly keep you busy.
I burned out long ago on Minecraft but love Valheim.
Good to hear! Now I can curl up and dream about being able to get parts for a computer that can play it lol
