    Nothing, really. I guess it depends on the ethics the Shepard you’re RPing as has.

    You could argue that all the killing Shepard does is justified (at least in the first game) in that you’re killing in the name of the Alliance, but apart from that, the killing isn’t really that different from what Garrus is doing as a vigilante.

      It’s hypocrisy no matter what in my opinion, Shepard is a Spectre in ME1 and their investigation is as a Spectre not an Alliance mission. Plus even a Paragon does plenty of taking the law into their own hands constantly.

      What is and isn’t justified is up to Shepard, which means it’s no different except that Shepard is “allowed” because he’s a Spectre and Garrus is allowed because he has the power to do so in a location with no written laws.
