That mindset about “everyone deep down wanting what they think is best for the world” is a baby brained attitude you must grow out of.
At the very least, because it isn’t true. But more importantly, because it doesn’t matter.

There’s no way to convince someone out of this, it’s literally a form of immaturity. They have to see evil directly in front of them to truly understand.
Yeah the whole “well Hitler was obviously evil” thing is fine in retrospect, but if we can only call something evil AFTER it’s already put people in gas chambers then it’s a bit too fucking late.
“Hitler is evil” is true but it’s also a way for white colonialists to wash their hands
Same as how Americans blame everything on “alabama” or “mississippi” when it’s really fundamental to white Americans in general.
If you just pile the blame on that one guy, you can paint yourself as acceptable
