No, I am dismissing the concept of basing reasoning - and policy - off of fear, or any emotion. When it comes to making policy and shaping a societal narrative, experience is good. Emotion, however, is very bad.
Our job as sapient beings is to rise above things that scare us and still discuss them rationally.
Give it a shot. Experiment. Learn something new.
