Is there any FOSS alternative to something like Giphy or Tenor? Or even a keyboard that embeds a GIF search engine?

I tried looking on alternativeto.net, but it doesn’t seem to have any FOSS alternative.

If it doesn’t exists, I’d say it’s time to make one!

    If I’m not mistaken, those things aren’t just search engines, they are gif hosting platforms. So as long as someone doesn’t chip in to shoulder the server costs, just making a foss search function isn’t exactly gonna get you very far.

    Discussion about GIF search in Android keyboards.

    There is no platform which provides a FOSS solution, so you need to work with APIs and then you need to allow your app to connect to the internet.

    There are some actual engines who index gifs but they are no match and unreliable compared to tenor and giphy.
