I wouldn’t tolerate him on a platform that I would own, so I agree with this decision.
Is it not oppression though?
What do you mean? That guy is a billionaire, and it’s not like he is lacking any means to get his voice heard.
But is silencing someone on a platform because you disagree with their beliefs not oppression?
Banning a powerful billionaire that fans dangerous right-wing sentiments from a game streaming site is, in fact, not oppression.
What does he do exactly to cause any harm or incite it in anyway? I’m still trying to find the quote/video/clip.
For clarity, I am not a US Citizen. I don’t really oppose or favor either side. I think they’re both twisted and fucked in the head. But I like to be up to date.
Well for one he called my people “rapists”, he’s been incredibly active on Twitter spewing sinophobic nonsense and conspiracy theories about China to fuel the new Cold War, he’s dogwhistled toward the Proud Boys (notably during his debate with Biden), he instituted the xenophobic Muslim Ban, he’s still lying about how the election was stolen, and a bunch of other things while his administration continued the imperialist and neoliberal efforts of past administrations like continuing drone strikes, keeping troops abroad and increasing the military budget, and attempting coups, this case in Venezuela.
I don’t really oppose or favor either side. I think they’re both twisted and fucked in the head.
Favoring no one means you favor the status quo, meaning the current capitalist-imperialist hegemony. If you can’t see a difference between “both sides”, you’re really not looking hard enough.
Working on my next reply, I am assuming you’re from South of the border of the US?
He repetitively falsely claimed that the election was staged, defended white racism on multiple occasions. He never explicitly stated “Go kill people”, but he encouraged it indirectly on multiple occasions.

It’s not about disagreeing beliefs, it’s about someone inciting violence, lying repetitively, and essentially turning a political party into a cult for his own ego.
When did he incite violence though?
How would it be oppression to make my own rules on my own server?? Imagine I am running a RC cars forum, am I not allowed to ban people who want to talk about farming? Am I not allowed to moderate?
If that isn’t oppression on the internet, would you mind defining it differently for me please? Because oppression to me is silencing someone based on their thoughts and beliefs, because you don’t agree with them. It’s what ruined Reddit and it’s what got Twitter and Facebook in shit during the Trump election.
They probably should have waited until the acts were more broadly recognized and condemned as incitements of violence…then we wouldn’t be having this conversation. The violation of terms of service would be clearer.
