Federated Twitter-likes such as Mastodon, Akkoma, and Misskey have a feature where you can make “local” posts that do not federate and can only be seen and replied to by users on your instance.

How difficult would this be to implement in Lemmy? I think this would help to prevent the site’s “culture” from being overrun if we decide to federate.
