So, yesterday she went missing. It was kind of unusual for her, so i was a bit worried. But this morning she returned home. Limping. And with a worryingly swollen paw. I thought it might be a broken bone, and imminently got her to the closest vet clinic. But the damn place was closed. No, it was the right time, the right day, here was no letters or notices. Building was just empty. Tried calling them… I heard phone ringing inside the building. But that’s it. So i had to go to the next town over. Well, their clinic was working, sure… But they had some emergency surgery case that pretty much wrecked the whole day’s schedule. So i had to wait. For four full hours. Probably should have went to some third clinic, but i couldn’t really see how long it would take, so eventually, you know, sunk cost fallacy kicked in. But yes, in the end it worked out. It wasn’t a broken bones, at least. It was punctured paw with a minor infection. Apparently, yesterday she pierced her paw with a rusty nail somewhere and instead of coming home where i could have cleaned the wound myself, she was licking her wound whole night somewhere. Now she will have to take antibiotics for a week. When i came home, she hid under a bed for most of the day, only leaving just now. Not blaming her, she spent so much time in a room full of strange people, cats and dogs, then had her wound cleaned and was sexually violated with a thermometer. Damn, that was one shitty morning.
