Big Loki please smush Sommers and let it kill him timmy-pray

Seriously though that last page is awesome, Loki looks so cool! And he literally wiped out like all the dream demons just by showing up! Not to powerscale, but maybe he’s too strong to join the Strawhats? This is like force of nature powerful.

Loki doesnt really have a role to fill in the straw hat crew. Jinbe was the helmsman and the fishman representative of the crew, much like rogers and rocks crew. Also oda is already having trouble balancing the existing 10 straw hats so adding another “bruiser” wouldn’t help matters.

I very much see Loki as becoming the king of elbaph and allying with Luffy in the final war to protect elbaph. I don’t think hajrudin can become the king of elbaph since he’s already in the straw hat grand fleet. I think it would be a narratively appropriate way of being able to write uber powerful giants into the story but not have them trivialize everything since now elbaph will be focused on their own sovereignty rather than being on the offensive and attacking other factions.

Very nice chapter run. Loki’s beast form is sick in how it just obliterates the sleeptids just by flying over them. We still have to see Loki’s hybrid form which he presumably used to take down the possessed Harald. That just makes it all the more intriguing that Shanks was able to capture Loki.

Sommers forcing the kids to walk to their deaths alongside their parents echoes his time during the god valley genocide where he did the exact same thing (which led him to losing to garling since he took so long in a darkly humorous way). Its interesting to see odas writing style transform in this sort of way where children are more centered in the narrative. Could this just be due to oda’s own maturity as a father or the fact that one piece’s story is about protecting the next generation.

Protecting the next generation was a theme pre-timeskip but mainly around the characters we were following. Now that the characters, Oda, and the reader base are all older maybe he’s made a conscious effort to focus on the kids as the next generation.

Wow I forgot Shanks was captured Loki! Is Shanks really just That Guy to casually stop one of the strongest things in the world
