Translation:
Father: THE TIME COMES WHEN EVERY FATHER AND CHILD MUST HAVE AN IMPORTANT CONVERSATION. ARE YOU READY?
Son: Yes, FATHER.
Father: THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF HUMANITY IS A HISTORY OF CLASS STRUGGLE. PATRICIANS AND PLEBEYS, FREEMEN AND SLAVES, OPPRESSORS AND OPPRESSED FACE TO FACE…
I had a faulty wording that I think gave you the wrong idea, sorry. My brother’s a techbro and nephew’s too young to have any politics yet, but we live in different countries, get to see each other a few times a year. I’m thinking about how I can use that time well, so that he ends up better than his parents.
My sister-in-law is at least not a techbro, but she’s got a petit bourgeois background and occasionally has “what about the employers” thoughts when political discussions take place. They’re both xenophobic as hell, despite both being immigrants too.
i havent been in that situation yet, but i will be soon, i think the best apporach is to be nice to the kid, treat him as a person ask about his interests, drop some hints here and there. If his dad is how other techbros i know, his kid is going to grow up hating him and likely distancing away from his politics.
