    I live in a country with no prior tipping culture so my answer probably doesn’t hold much weight. But I obviously don’t have any respect for it and would hate to actively live under a tipping culture - I probably wouldn’t ever eat out or get food delivered because that extra layer of social expectation is just too much of a pain to deal with. I don’t want to feel like I’m making or breaking a night of work for this poor kid handling my food.

    Where I’m from pretty much the only people who get tipped are specifically food delivery drivers, and that is a matter of three to five extra dollars if you have the change hanging about, and we usually do this because we know the under the table and cash in hand nature of their employment means that there’s no way they’re getting paid for gas.
