Short answer: Gonzalo led a group of terrorists, that called themselves “El Sendero Luminoso”(The Shining Path in english). They were mainly known for massacring innocent peasants if there were as much as rumors of pro government sentiment. Also known for hanging puppies from lampposts and killing people with boiling water. Amongst their main victims were the peasants, activists, and other leftists groups.
