50·2 days agoI honestly bet some actuarial ghoul in the Pentagon went: “Y’know 99.9% of the time these things just fucking explode when hit and it’s too expensive to maintain 6 parachutes for such a rare occurrence that it doesn’t.”





They are saying that the plane was “lost”, as in no longer available. Think of them as “material losses” in the context of a war etc…
It is capitalized because it is a headline and every word is capitalized in that sentence. That’s also why it’s worded so succinctly (short and to the point). Headlines are sometimes even tough for native speakers because removing words can make the meaning unclear.
