  • The New Republic is a reliable magazine. It names the doctor in the article. Dr Zeke Emanuel is a doctor who worked for Biden, not as a Biden’s personal doctor but as a policy advisor for COVID. He even has a wikipedia article.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ezekiel_Emanuel

The title is misleading click-bait. The title says “Doctor who worked with Biden says he had cancer for years”. By this title, you are misled into thinking that the doctor knew that Biden had cancer, but the title doesn’t say that. The doctor worked for Biden’s covid policy panel and Biden has late stage cancer, therefore this doctor made the inference now that Biden must have had cancer for a long time.

The article does not say that this doctor was aware of the cancer previously.

  • This discussion was mostly casual. They agreed on mostly everything.

The most heated disagreement they had was on the participation of Jewish people in anti-Zionist movements.

BadEmpanada says that he has a term “Jewish Exceptionalism”. I think he said that he made this term up. He says that by focusing on the opinions of Jewish people in the anti-Zionism movement gives the appearance that the opinions of Jewish people matter more.

Hasan said that Jewish Anti-Zionist groups are important because it shows uninitiated people that the Jewish religion and Zionism are separate entities. Hasan says it’s not intended to say that the opinions of Jewish people matters more.

  • Historically they were not known to be friends. There was a internet drama, “reactgate”, “chairgate”. Twitter was debating whether it’s ethical for react streamers to make money from watching videos made by other people.

There was one time when Hasan put on a youtube video of a small youtuber and went to go to the bathroom. This wasn’t really like a normal scenario for Hasan. At the time he was known, excessively pausing during videos. Watching a video and pausing and commenting over it is generally considered to be protected by “fair use” in terms of Copyright law. The small youtuber was upset. Hasan apologized. D*stiny fans created a larger drama out of it.

During this same period, Badempanada chose to take the position against react streamers. He said that react streamers are stealing labor value from other video makers or something. I think he has changed his position to be more lenient as long as the commentary of the reactor adds new value and also he likes that he’s getting more subscribers when people react to his videos.

For this reason they avoided each other. They have made a truce in the past year. I think Badempanada was banned from twitch. Hasan only streams on twitch. This video from today is basically the first time they’ve talked publicly together

I’ve played 2 hours of the stream. It has been very casual. There’s no heated moments. They have very light criticisms of each other. Hasan thinks that Badempanada scares people because he doxes his enemies on twitter. Badempanada thinks Hasan should leave the US because the political situation is getting too bad.

  • I think Gen X still believes that they saved Africa from communism by listening to a rock music concert. Live aid perfectly combined activism with consumerism.

Gen X grew up under rampant consumerism of the 80s. Plastic action figures and dolls. They have all of their nostalgia invested into brands.

Gen X will never shut the fuck up about how they were the last generation to play outside.

They get mad about regulations. “We used to have candy cigarettes and lawn darts.” “Why don’t they show guns in kid cartoons anymore?” “Kids today are too soft”.

They grew up entirely under Reagan, so they believe all of Reagan’s policies: “welfare queens”, fear of frivolous lawsuits, anti-union sentiment, etc.

They spent most of their childhood eating leaded painted chips and inhaling leaded gasoline. I believe this causes Gen X to have behavioral problems in the current day.

They experienced the 90s crime panic as soon as they get out of high school and now they still obsess over local crime numbers. This is probably tied to some racist beliefs.

The 90s culture told them that it’s wrong to work in an office jobs because it’s boring and they’re all meant to be rock stars. They think they’re too good for a steady job.

Their culture they were raised by tells them that they are rebellious but they aren’t rebelling against anything. 80s rock music presented a generic image of rebellion against nothing in particular, maybe cold war rebellion against communism. Today their instilled rebellion manifests itself against social movements, ie rebelling against “woke”. See Kid Rock as example.

Gen X loves fast food but they want to murder the people who make fast food.

Gen X didn’t have the internet until they were already adults. They never developed skepticism for the internet properly. Facebook bricked their brains.

I think a lot of their beliefs are probably influenced by Reaganism. They internalized Reagan’s policies as children because they were too young to see the biases.

  • Notes from Drop Sites News:

    • The plan is being seriously considered and has been discussed with Libyan leadership. In exchange, the U.S. would potentially unfreeze billions of dollars in Libyan assets.

    • Israel is aware of the discussions. Senior Hamas official, Dr. Basem Naim, said that Hamas was not aware of any discussions. No final agreement has been reached, NBC reports and the State Department and National Security Council declined comment.

    • Libya, still divided between rival governments, is struggling with war and instability. The U.S. currently warns against travel due to “crime, terrorism, kidnapping, and armed conflict.”

    • Plans include possible financial incentives like free housing or stipends to encourage voluntary departure—but it’s unclear how many Palestinians would agree.

    • Transport options being considered include airlifts, sea routes, and land convoys, all of which pose major logistical hurdles. Gaza lacks an airport, and Israel may not permit overland travel to Egypt.

    • The U.S. has also reportedly considered Syria under its new post-Assad leadership as a potential resettlement site.

    • Trump previously said Palestinians would need to be relocated so the U.S. could “take over” and rebuild Gaza as a “Riviera of the Middle East.” He added: “I don’t think people should be going back to Gaza.”

    • The proposal for ethnically cleansing Gaza has faced intense pushback from Arab allies and members of Congress.
