Not “new” news, but a great interview from just after the API price announcement and before it all blew up…

I honestly don’t think reddit is the enemy, but saying that and defining it, I fail. It is opposed to us who left, but I honestly think it was bad initial terms and being recalcitrant in the face of us leaving that was wrong. I dont hate them, i pitty them. They know the easy way, but that is giving more time and maybe lower terms to the api. They thought they could lop off the top few 3rd clients and then negotiate with the rest as the inevitable progression happens, but the strike caught them by surprise and they didn’t know how to respond.

Maybe it’s still ego, maybe he is right that we will fail. We will see

It’s been a few days since the official end of the 48 hour blackout, Reddit doesn’t feel as alive at it was now, lot of people staying away. Found a few alternatives but the whole thing has made me realize I spend too much time at this anyway.

What even is there to fail in this case exactly? A one to one reddit clone?

I am not in the tech industry. I’m trying to call it like I see it, and what is happening just feels natural to me.
