Other thread died and so here’s the new one to post stuff in until it dies, too.
I wanted to share more of the Genestealer Cult and Inquisitor. Some more angles and WIP shots:
Owlbear my mom wanted after seeing it in the shop. This was a Reaper Miniatures: Bones model. Was honestly kind of annoying cleaning this thing. There were mould lines and gaps everywhere that were hard to reach because it was pre-assembled. Anyone buying from this line should be careful to inspect the model and get the one with the fewest defects.
Also @Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net: no jelly over these gains. You could look this ripped if you worked out more instead of eating so much beanis and dirt.
Underpainting/grisaille of the giants WIP. I’ll post the basecoat shots when my phone is charged.
This is what I’m currently working on (and being a lazy ass since they’ve been sitting unfinished now for like a year):
Jungle Swarms to go with my Gnomes to make a Lizardman army. I have six bases of these, some terror birds, a cobra, mushroom men, and bug men I’ve been painting together in a batch. I’ve hit the image limit again so I’ll post those too later, plus maybe I’ll go take some pics tonight of the WIP with actual paint on them.
Actually I AM that ripped, thank you very much and it’s BECAUSE of beanis 😤
Yeah Reaper minis tend to have lots of gaps, which I think is mostly due to them being originally cast in metal. Imo even more off-putting are the integrated bases which are always weird shapes that aren’t useful for any games.
I have a different owlbear (see below) which I got unassembled that had some gaps but I figured it was good enough that I couldn’t be bothered to get in there and fill everything, especially with the feather texture. I mostly just use my Reaper stuff for some easy low-effort speedpainting these days.
Love the little cartoon/chibi pig on the second jungle swarm, it is the most dangerous predator of all.
