I’m gonna make a youtube channel where i take youtube videos and edit out all the superfluous context setting and make them like 2 minutes long max and if you want all the extra stuff you get a link to the original video. I see a headline I just want the meat of the point.
Why is getting a job hard? Because the jobs are all at one diner in Reynoldsville, PA. Boom done.
JRPG summaries patch
YT shorts or TikToks but you need to have double or tripple screens in a crunched down format with text spam and loud irrelevant music.
Not a single mention of needing multiple jobs or not being able to make ends meet with rising costs. When you combine the 30+ day multiple interview “quirkiness” with the underwhelming benefit of complying, the overwhelming attitude becomes much more understandable.
: “Just get two jobs lol. Sorry you have to work 80 hours a week, but it’s worth it for porky’s freedumz!”
This is especially sadistic when porky is infamous for being arbitrarily picky and only wants “the best of the best” even for fucking dishwasher positions. I need a fucking master’s, years of training, and a bunch of “industry connections” just to be given permission to wash dishes for some ungrateful asshole who thinks he’s running google. Oh, and they want 100% open availability so even if I’m lucky enough to have the first full-time job, they’ll disqualify me because I can’t give every moment of my life to washing their precious dishes."
And people call me the “elitist” because I think racism is bad.
Holy hell, I’d love to have a response rate that high.
Mine was easily 10x worse before I gave up on it
Same, wtf
I applied to 12, got like 6 callbacks I think, 3 interviews. One was no offer, other offer was too low, last one I took.
Trades are just different I guess.
“No one wants to work anymore.”
“No, I’m not hiring. Have fun starving in the streets lol.”
I hate this world so much. I hate being surplus population.
Ugh I have to find a new job in the coming months, I wasn’t worried because it seemed like lab work is one of the few things that isn’t having this issue, but with how much I’m hearing about it now I’m worried I am gonna have trouble
Not gonna lie, its probably gonna suck and you should start actively applying for jobs now (assuming you’re still employed at this minute).
Solidarity.
Yeah we’re hitting that point now. The problem is I can’t start somewhere new until July at the earliest
You know your situation better than me but…
~2 to 4 months of actively applying for jobs, maybe start getting call backs 4 weeks after your first round of applications are submitted ( maybe earlier if you’re calling about the submitted applications), another 2 to 4 weeks for initial interviews and follow ups… Its February right now, three months from now will be May… maybe it would work out
This is true in many countries, not just the USA
What is true?
Why getting a job feels impossible right now
Oops I read “just not the USA” and was deeply confused.
can the house of cards collapse already?
A wage-based economy built on competition
Fucking brilliant
