For very confused Americans, Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in October not November. Our Thanksgiving also doesn’t have the association with pilgrims and natives either.
Still thankful for y’all.
Gobble gobble. For those who will be eating turkey today, eat a lil extra for me. Haven’t had a Thanksgiving dinner in years and I’m dying a little on the inside. 💙
Spock is my idol. Showing up to family events in just a bathrobe. That’s my jam.
For real. Dude has balls and in those moments we almost saw them!
Spock: “Ass…”
steps closer to Kirk
Spock: “You are… an ass.”
Kirk, smiling: “Yes.”
Captain Kirk really does want deep fried turkey, it’s a moister, tastier turkey.
@icerunner_origin @Stamets I mean who wouldn’t?
we don’t have thanksgiving in the uk
The weird thing is that I know that. I’m not sure why I put that in the text. My fault for not eating or sleeping lately. My apologies and edited.
Fun fact. Canadian Thanksgiving originated in the old CofE harvest thanksgiving but got secularized, made statutory and fixed on the second Monday in October.
@risa FYI, you just call Columbus Day Thanksgiving
No, that’s not true. We call Thanksgiving Thanksgiving. They’re two completely different holidays. We don’t celebrate Columbus day at all here in Canada. There’s literally no connection at all outside of the date being the same and even that wasn’t part of the original holiday.
Also not sure why you’re trying to @ the entire community in your comments.
because I’m on Friendica and that’s what it does by default
Weird.
