Made in honor of the latest how to drink (though this is the traditional recipe, not the one on that episode)
0.5 Benedictine 0.5 rye 0.5 cognac 0.5 sweet vermouth
2 dashes each peychouds and angostura
Stirred, up
Very interesting drink. Almost tastes like coffee.
I love this drink (honestly I love most cocktails with Benedictine).

it is a very interesting drink and is a delicious one at that, but…

…it does not taste like coffee. So if a coffee drink seems not up your alley that’s okay. It’s more of a much more floral Manhattan.

I absolutely love the Vieux Carre, but my preferred spec dials down the benedictine to a barspoon floated on top (its quite sweet, and you really want it for the aroma more than anything, IMO).
If you can get real Maraschino cherries, they make a killer garnish.
I want to get me hands on Benedictine to make this drink!!
