There’s nothing I can say any better or with more detail that he’s already said it. Yikes!

I shared this article with my family and the response was “well it’s depressing and sucks, but we have no choice”… basically big tech has convinced them all to capitulate already

Defeatist attitude is bullshit. Little steps like EU pushing right to repair and forcing apple to adopt usb-c and stop creating e-waste give me hope…

I dunno how you feel over there in europe. Seems like EU is trying to do the right thing sometimes whereas over here the gov’t doesnt bother to try and hide the fact that they are fully in bed with big tech and helping to move us along to technofeudalism as quickly as possible

EU is protecting our rights as customers while trying to implement laws to spy on all of us.

I don’t even know what I’m supposed to feel.

It feels like the same approach various religions have used for centuries. They will only protect you from others if you give yourself over to them. Capitulation leads to market capitalization.

The great thing about the platforms we have is that we do not need 2000 years to end this form of feudalism, we just need to get people to stop engaging in this shit and to politically mobilize

    FTA

By usurping your right to decide who fixes your phone, Apple gets to decide whether you can fix it, or whether you must repair it.

Can someone tell Cory that he needs to edit this sentence? One of you knows someone who knows him, certainly. (I probably do too, I just don’t know who.)
