I’m also using Nova Launcher (on Pixel 6A), received Android 14 update, haven’t had any problems. Or frankly noticed many differences at all, which makes me hope they spent the year squashing bugs? Right, Google? …
You need to understand that the Republican party is by now a well-distilled cult, and most will vote for literally anyone they are told to.
Any news they don’t like is fake, including Jordan covering up sexual abuse, and T****'s 90+ felony charges. Their minds are ravaged by years of misinformation and conspiracies (hate-for-profit “news”, social media propaganda, etc). They simply do not know or care what is real anymore. To be brutally honest, these are also symptoms of just being very dumb, but now they’ve been organized and weaponized.
These clowns have always existed. What has changed is masses of very dumb people being brainwashed and organized, thanks mostly to social media “news”. (Plus the decline of respect and funding for actual journalism.) Idiocracy is here.
But their base already believed that, with no evidence. This is all just because they need to act like they’re doing “something”, and it’s much easier than actually governing and helping people (while simultaneously pleasing their corpo masters). The distilled base of angry, miserable, irrational, moron cultists enables it.
Pe-nile, and residents are called Pe-nis. /s
2016: All I need, to have hope for the future, is a large majority of people willing to slightly inconvenience themselves to produce positive changes.
2023: Human intelligence has peaked, idiocracy is here, I for one welcome our AI overlords, earthonfire.jxl, etc.
Same here. I played around with the settings (extremely limited, typical of Google), but ended up just deleting the widget. I’m using Nova Launcher on a Pixel 6A. Hope it at least fits the default launcher UI better, otherwise it’s just terrible.
I do this with passwords, too. For example, generate 15 digits and add 5 digits (like +LMY!) to end. Many of those sites will list which passwords were stolen, easy to see to see which sites have unforgivably poor security.
For email addresses, the variation is useful, but it’s probably inevitable that it’s eventually sold, stolen or guessed. Still nice to have the evidence.
Is it playable without VR hardware yet (officially)? Would love to play it, but… VR still seems like expensive gimmick to me.
I left their entire ecosystem forever after they were hacked multiple times during PS3 era, and were still too arrogant or lazy to add 2FA to accounts. (My bank at the time wouldn’t even allow my card to be added to PS store because of rampant fraud.) They were later hacked by (checks notes…) North Korea, who spilled their corporate secrets (and pissed of Sandler, Fincher, others).
Not to mention rootkits, insane DRM (see Cinavia), Blu-ray shady business (looks at price of BD players now), proprietary everything (memory cards, cables), focus on gimmicks, the horrendous design of PS5 (lol), etc.
Also, when the government’s military is less powerful (or too corrupt, will not fight) than the gang’s military, the gang is now the government (owner). There is no “peace” versus armed gangs with more power and money than the gov.
You should be more careful spreading misinformation like this. (You may as well say they give you cancer and eat your baby.) FreeTaxUSA is still owned by TaxHawk, and absolutely not any part of Intuit (in fact it’s a direct competitor that is doing great work to kill them). Intuit has managed to buy Credit Karma though, maybe others.
Maybe this ridiculous thing will eventually replace some of the worst or most useless human cops… in twenty years, after a few billion tax dollars, just before their union neuters the project and renders it virtually useless. Think of the possibilities!
Very nice summary, thanks. I just recently started CP77, about 30 hours in now. I will stick with 1.63 for this playthrough.
My notes: The story and writing seems mostly excellent and unique (but not near the magic and masterpiece of Witcher 3.) Feeling that development was chaotic (pieces cut, rearranged, “montage” with Jackie was jarring.). World seems quite empty, few “layers” (soulless, unpolished). Car controls are not great, very “floaty” and strange. Literally zero encounters with NCPD yet (lol?). Reminds of Deus Ex, but leaning more action FPS. Bugs still apparent (floating cars, missing items), but nothing game-breaking. Graphics underwhelming (city environment especially, characters better, mostly “very high” settings, but admittedly no HDR or ray-tracing).
Would rate 4 out of 5 for now, but a 3 is possible (hopefully not).
I guess the paths will now need some kind of bulletproof and carproof protection. thisiswhywecanthavenicethings.jxl
We’re going to need about seventeen Batmans worth of vigilante justice to overcome this insanity. So far, not even one billionaire has tried to throw one of these clowns in a vat of chemicals. And then we get a removed Musk?! Fuck this.
What I mean is more options for those features. The profiles and password tools are especially clever. (Examples: Password organizer can be locked with short master password, great for quickly decrypting archives matching ANY stored password. Profiles can quickly encrypt using specific settings, including super-long saved password without entering it.)
Wealth, probably. I would guess someone like that lives and works in a well-insulated bubble of whiteness that now feels like home to him. He now basically identifies as white, unless it’s convenient not to. The guy probably believes that racism is not a modern problem, bootstraps, etc.

Branch is apparently a $4B Silicon Valley startup, that raised $300M just two years ago. They can afford Nova’s team of twelve, or at least more than one fucking dev. They even fired Cliff, the one guy doing support (social, Discord, email, etc).
That said, I wish they wouldn’t have sold out. Nova is one of the few things I want to subscribe to, very well earned. Nobody can reasonably complain about $10-20 per year for “Prime Ultra” or something. I don’t even see a donate button in settings.
