  • I use a lenovo flip. I love the reversible hinge, but the flip functionality is quite buggy and the build quality is kind of crap.

    I’ve been eyeing a framework 13 for years now, but I don’t want to be wasteful by buying a laptop I do not need yet. They look really well supported and easy to work on.

    System76 has been a classic for a long time, but I’ve never had the money for one go their units.

    People who prefer android because it’s open source usually use open source android because that’s what they want.

    That being said, proprietary blobs and black boxes are a pox on basically every usable device these days. I hate it.










  • Oh, if you’re trying to prevent usury, it would be far simpler to either cap interest rates or ban compound interest in favor of simple interest.

    Rate caps are the simplest solution least likely to backfire, but unfortunately they tend to push people away from legitimate sources of lending, so you do have to be careful that they aren’t too low.

    Like I said, forming a corporation isn’t a simple thing, doing it to organize a personal loan would take up an enormous amount of time and money, and result in substantially fewer consumer protections.
