This sounds like Valve is paying devs to work full time on arch, and thus managing to achive more than volunteers could.

A little low specs for a tablet with “pro” in its name, but at only €400 they needed to save money somewhere
Thanks for the hint on nVidia. That might explain my issue
Oh, they found one scenario that looks good for them. Never trust those early benchmarks until they can be verified independently.
Doesn’t look too bad for me
I think its hard to have a foldable device that has a phone aspect ratio (2:1) when open and a reasonable size (and thickness) when closed.
This could only be done like the flip phone (1:1 --> 2:1) or by multiple folds (like the triple fold huawei).
What does the “video call” thing mean? Only video calls with Google Meet or are other services supported, too?
It’a about locating objects like headphones:
While locating objects over Bluetooth is possible, it’s also not very precise — but that’s what Bluetooth 6.0 and its new Channel Sounding feature are looking to solve.
Lineage OS doesn’t allow to do major updates via the integrated updater. You need a PC to upgrade.
Pixel updates will still take a few weeks, IIRC they are announced for early october.
Additionally, the first Alpha version of PlaytronOS has now been released for those of you who wish to test and give feedback. So far they note it has been tested across the AYANEO 2, ASUS ROG Ally, GPD Win 4 (2023), Lenovo Legion Go, Valve Steam Deck LCD and Valve Steam Deck OLED.
Quite a nice list of tested handhelds.
Looks nice, but very minimalisitc
OSM is incredible. I really like the quality of the map when hiking or cycling. There is just no path or trail that is not shown on the map.
They say that even the cheap Intel version can play most retro games:
Ideal for light indie Steam games and retro gaming up to Wii U
With the ryzen variant, you can probably play most games.
The article includes a summary, which I have copied here:
Key Takeaways
- Google Play is adding a new menu to help users control what app data Google can use for personalization.
- This feature makes it easier to opt out of data sharing for each downloaded app, though finding the app you’re looking for is tricky right now.
The 8600G is quite a leap ahead of the Steam Deck in terms of performance and architecture. But of course you can just take the steam deck with you and play on the go or in bed ;)
You can probably build this yourself with bazzite and a compact pc, but the pricing looks pretty attractive (for the ryzen variant at least)
Thanks, I’ll give it a try
This looks all the same like every Pixel 8 Phone.
One thing was new for me though, the Taskbar app looks nice
They are learning from Apple about the memory price. $300 for 512 gb additional
memorystorage is insane.
