Hello there.
This contains the most recent issue: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/1989401
There was also leaking DMs, subtle transphobia / chaser issues (a bit like the reddit 196). If you read the hexbear post they have screenshots
People are so caught up with hating hexbear users that the whole 196 mod drama is probably going to be overlooked. I’m waiting to see the statement from our instance mods before deciding if this place is really for me
A helpful tip to get myself writing notes instead of lashing out at friends was to send DMs in a chat I was only in. So it felt like I sent it, but without the destroying my friendships part. For each message I’d also write notes down elsewhere and when I was done I’d copy-paste it to to wherever I wanted to send it. Once I got used to it, I would just write notes on my phone and then screenshot it and not send it anywhere. I still feel vindicated at the time, but now I don’t have to deal with the aftermath. It’s also good at documenting what I am thinking and what lead to it.
Hopefully someone else finds this useful :)
Done! I’ve added some more issues as well
I made an AUR PKGBUILD for it so it’s easier to install on Arch
I’ve been using it since it succeeded Antergos (2019ish) and I’ve really enjoyed it, I use it on most of my systems! It has really sane defaults and makes for a good Arch experience that doesn’t involve setting things up yourself. If you like XFCE, they have the best out of the box theming I’ve seen a distro have for it, but there are other DEs that you can pick (I think you need internet access during the install IIRC).
It has its own repository that has some nice apps in it (like AUR helpers). The community around the distro is also really good, whenever I’ve come across an issue posted on the forums everyone seems really chill and noob friendly.
Other than that, it’s basically a GUI Arch installer (an amazing one at that!) that doesn’t get in your way and it just works. There’s been probably one problem, in the four years I’ve used it, that wasn’t caused by me breaking things (the grub incident), but the distro’s response to that was very well done.
The only other distros I use are Arch and Debian, but EndeavourOS is always my recommendation for people newer to Linux. It just works.
Not the original poster, but here you go :P
Wtf… I think this may be a record 😂
Edit: I added you to the list lol Do you want a canvas with all the pixels you’ve placed?
Could you make one for me and my girlfriend’s combined pixels?

Thank you so much for this! This is so cool
It might have been my internet connection or the instance not liking it. I did try and fail on two instances tho ;-;
That’s a lot of pixels!
With say an average of 300 pixels per user and a 628000 pixel total it puts the total users at 2100. I would want someone else to double check my results tho as my brain is just pixels now
I did this by hand, so that’s why this isn’t all of them. I just did the top 5 plus lemmy.nz. I don’t know if I got the users / instance right, but the results seem reasonable.
Pxl | Instance | Users | Pxl / User |
---|---|---|---|
264489 | lemmy.world | 851 | 311 |
56092 | feddit.de | 207 | 271 |
35315 | lemmy.blahaj.zone | 120 | 294 |
28312 | lemm.ee | 121 | 234 |
23844 | sh.itjust.works | 104 | 229 |
9109 | lemmy.nz | 31 | 294 |
1726 | no.lastname.nz | 1 | 1726 |
Thank you! I was just working on something in python to remove the “user undo” from the results. Your results look a lot more accurate now
I tried commenting how many pixels were placed by each instance, but it wouldn’t post for some reason, so I made a post if anybody is interested.
The top three are:
270946 lemmy.world
57002 feddit.de
36019 lemmy.blahaj.zone
For the rest check my profile
I wanted to add this as a comment to another post, but for some reason I couldn’t post spoilers with a table in it?
This counts all placed pixels including undid ones. Someone would need to write a script to hone in on that kind of data
I only posted top 100, your post is much more complete thanks :)
Also, I used cat pixels.log.txt | awk '{print $3}' | sort | uniq -c | sort -nr
(then head -100) to parse it. Do you mind telling me what grep -o -P '[^ \t\r\n@]+[@][^ \t\r\n@]+'
does in yours? It looks scary lol
I thought it was that there is a spectrum for people who have ADHD as it’s neurological. I.e. you either have ADHD or not
