  • My current job is WFH, so no one would know or care. But I previously had a safety sensitive job that held us to either the same or higher standards as the federal Dept of Transportation. They were so strict that we had posters advising against drinking kombucha at lunch or using pure CBD products at all. My SO at the time had a CBD balm that I would put gloves on to help apply because I didn’t want to risk it. The company said that while these products were likely fine, if an accident or something happened and we had to then take a drug test, any registerable amount would be grounds for immediate dismissal with no recourse.

  • On the one hand, I agree with Dinklage - typecasting little people sucks. They are legitimate actors that deserve to have roles that aren’t just about their appearance.

On the other hand - Dinklage has made it big. He has paid his dues and sacrificed and now doesn’t have to worry whether he can pay next month’s rent, but most little people actors (or even actors in general) don’t have that luxury. By bullying Disney to change the cast, he cost 7 other actors a job that, considering it’s Disney, might have been a big break.

  • Nope, just a dude on Fox News with some military experience. Square jaw, talks tough, so of course Trump loved him. From a collection of CBS News articles:

Hegseth was valedictorian at Forest Lake High School in Minnesota and attended Princeton University, where he played basketball. From there, he joined the Minnesota National Guard and later the Army National Guard. He was sent abroad three times, as part of a security platoon at Guantanamo Bay, an infantryman in Iraq and counterinsurgency instructor in Afghanistan. Hegseth does not have senior military or national security experience.

    .

Co-host of Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends Weekend,” Hegseth has been a contributor to the network for a decade. He developed a friendship with Trump through the president-elect’s regular appearances on the show. In a statement, a Fox News spokesperson complimented Hegseth’s military knowledge, saying his “insights and analysis especially about the military resonated deeply with our viewers.”

    .

He’s also written a number of books, several for the network’s publishing imprint, including “The War on Warriors: Behind the Betrayal of the Men Who Keep Us Free.” In announcing Hegseth as his pick, Trump complimented that book, noting its “nine weeks on the New York Times best-sellers list, including two weeks at NUMBER ONE.”
