remember ezboard forums? a massive network of forum communities interconnected through one service provider.
the fediverse reminds me of it in a way except ezboard communities couldn’t separate themselves like a lemmy instance deferating.
i was excited as a kid to finally get internet, felt like i struck gold when i came across ezboard.
so many forums for all sorts of stuff.
i got into play-by-post rpg forums for a bit, but mostly i liked reading existing threads.
one of the forums i can still remember was fyre myst rpg. fantasy themed and with a separate forum for each location in a custom setting.
same folks ran another one, called bloodravyn. that one was a vampire themed rpg but i wasn’t as interested in that.
i guess tapatalk is its modern descendant more or less, but i still miss the original incarnation.
Loved ezboard. Was with them 20+ years ago, stayed with em through the sales and migrations to Yuku, then Tapatalk. Was also a pbp rpger, mostly on a few Gundam boards with my wife and some other people. Was better back in the ezboard days. Yuku wasn’t too bad, Tapatalk is shit lol
