The same trends of repression, censorship and ideological homogeneity plaguing the national press generally have engulfed the media outlet I co-founded, culminating in censorship of my own articles.
The Dems cheated Crazy Bernie in favor of someone with so many corrupt dealings
The remaining intercept people wrote an article dissing him and WAPO also wrote someting similar
Wait, really? So he’s a good guy or bad guy? Honestly speaking, he may have a point, but it may just be him trying to appeal to people like us. Didn’t he refuse or hold off on leaking the rest of the files that Edward Snowden uncovered?
Not sure what to think here…
I think he was possibly the last genuinely honest journalist at the Intercept that believed in reporting facts, even though he was a Western liberal. Most of the others are probably writing to advance some narrative or editorial line
maybe they just wanted to co-opt his name to build up the Intershit
The overall coverage of the Intercept has noticeably changed as the election approached. There used to be articles about a wider range of topics and it has changed to be mostly about Orange man bad
Actually, when it comes down to it, he was the only one that wrote anything of note in The Intercept…
He’s an “anti-authoritarian”, and that can make him pretty intolerable especially on twitter at times, but he definitely deserves support for his willingness to expose the US empire’s war crimes and mass surveillance. Just like Assange’s or Snowden’s or Manning’s politics aren’t that great, they still should be supported from an anti-imperialist perspective. The intercept went full liberal and sinophobic for the past few years, but Glenn has always been willing to criticize the dems, which is unnacceptable even to the magazine he founded, and things finally came to a breaking point.
Tankies and tankie-adjacent’s on twitter are rightly supporting him against the intercept and its coastal bourgeois publishing house / editors, and hoping this experience will push him more left.
I agree. I hope this pushes him more to the left as well. And yeah, I also read his articles in the past; he’s definitely of the “anti-authoritarian” type, for better or for worse (mostly for worse). In the end, The Intercept got taken over by the coastal elites. Not surprised.
All kinds of news.
