The HK left rn is a glorious example of propagandist bias being observed by “leftists”. Their schools and media run constant anti-mainland campaigns funded directly by the state’s bourgeois class (as well as by foreign western investors, predominately from the UK and the US), and that media actively suppresses the communist parties and organizations of the state. So now all of the HK “leftists” I know genuinely think PRC is a fascist state that’s trying to wipe out their identity and force them into [insert authoritarian thing].
I dont think it makes any sense to call them leftists. They are clearly liberals (which explains why so many western radlibs support them).
These people I’ve had to share community space with have the gall to call themselves “libertarian socialists”, then fully back CIA operations in their region. Nah fam you’re not “libertarian socialist”, even if you’re an anti-capitalist and believe in the writings of various leftists. You’re a tool of the American Empire to disrupt Socialist projects.
It really can’t be repeated often enough:
