Long title I know but I’m always learning something new, despite having read so much Marx and Engel and Lenin, Mao, Rosa etc. I still find myself realizing how much little I knew. Okay so there was an issue that scientific Socialists would run into with Proudhonist, Bakunists what have you, and that is the fact that their ideas of Socialism in many ways wanted to turn back the clock; petty bourgeois; reactionary. What scientific Socialists, Communists realize is that the point is not to resist the productive forces and their development but embrace them. Society has already created the conditions for Socialism; it has since the beginning of the industrial revolution. What scientific Socialism shows and proves is the real social character that already exists in our mode of production.

The dictatorship of the Proletariat would turn all the means of production and use it in a practical way, according to the needs of society instead of the anarchic form of the market. Utopian Socialists would simply turn workers into small owners or small capitalists in a sense but that would simply hinder the productive forces from developing. It is that small ownership, trying to reverse the massive productive forces to a time where people had their own plots of land which is impossible. Communists want to use the existing productive forces to meet the needs of society and progress it forward.
