I’ve struggled finding information on what’s going on in Lebanon, and whether it’s good or not. Anyone know?

I am concerned. I don’t know enough about the full situation to make a judgement on the government there. However the fact that Macron of all people is leading the call for “a new political order” and there are calls for a French mandate all of a sudden, that rubs me the wrong way.

I’m not gonna claim it’s an inside job because that’s far fetched. I’m sure mistakes were made that led to the explosion. But the event seems to be the perfect excuse to justify imperialist activity.

yeah, Macron’s involvement has me suspicious

to be fair, Lebanon has not been particularly stable for a long time (since its civil war, I’ve been told). Imperialists being the bloodthirsty wolves they are were just waiting for the moment to pounce. that is to say that it could have genuinely been an accident, and the imperialists were just waiting for something to happen, which in this case was a catastrophic explosion etc. etc…

im also interested. mainly if we should support the local party (which to my knowledge is calling for regime change) or the government in anti imperialism and anti Israel.
