I’m not new to communism, but I figured this is the right community to ask. I’ve met some fellow MLs at protests, but I don’t know if there are any communist/revolutionary groups in my city. (Richmond) How might I find out?

Quick heads up for you and anyone else that might read this; all openly socialist parties and unions are almost certainly being monitored by the surveillance state, up to and including provocateurs from the state police and security services. Tread very carefully.

For starters you can pull the contact info off of PSL or CPUSA etc. websites and ask them if there are any local chapters.

I’m actually a minor, so I can’t join the CPUSA. I’m not sure about the PSL though. I’ve spent the last hour doing research, but I couldn’t find anything about an age restriction. Does anyone know anything about this?

There’s no strict age-limit for PSL, although minors would need parental permission in order to actually join (instead of just being a friend of the party, etc.). I would definitely recommend reaching out to your closest PSL branch and getting more information. You can ask for more info at https://pslweb.org/join or reach out directly on your branch’s social media. Showing up to a demo where they will be also works.

I’m going to answer this in a way that will help a larger swath of people. Generally speaking, doing social media and google searches (or any search engine, for that matter) will find you most of the left-wing organizations in your area. Failing that, you might be able to find them by asking around. Most of the major organizations have a chapter in every state, though if you live exterior to a major city you might have to travel a bit to get to organization meetings and meetups. If no groups exist in your area, you can always start one. Either by starting ground up and organizing your friends together, or by petitioning an existing group to open a chapter near you.
