The Taliban is attacking Iran in what might be one of the most blatant fucking proxy wars in human history and the Pro-Ukraine talking heads can’t even pretend that they didn’t immediately switch teams. I hate them so much it’s unreal.
I am putting a correction notice here, there is/was a water dispute between Iran and Afganistan, and while there have been clashes, the border seems to have calmed down,
The instant the attacks started, Ukrainian news orgs took credit in a way because it was implied that this all had to do with Iran’s drone production. They definetly jumped the gun on it because suddenly supporting the Taliban was already starting to discredit them. Still though, the timing of all that was fishy as hell.
Pretty standard WHO presentation, it was interesting listening to their reasoning for terminating some programs early, and it was very nice to hear about the blind vaccine distribution program in the works designed to circumvent the effects of vaccine nationalism in areas such as Latin America and Africa that are unable to develop a domestic vaccine and can’t license or import enough foreign supplies.
I think I’ll definitely read the June meeting where each country will go more in depth into the mistakes made by the their states and pharmaceutical companies and how they plan to remedy that for the future…
It’s also been hilarious watching the anti vax conspiracy theory Nazis run around like always. My favorite was that the WHO announced at this meeting that they believe the 7 million deaths reported by member states is woefully low, and that their estimates place the death toll and excess mortality from covid infection at 20 million. The nuts took this to mean that the WHO said that vaccines killed 20 million people 😂. My other favorite was that a journalist asked if Covid was a bio-weapon and the director said that that was a possibility just the same as if Covid naturally evolved, but that they don’t know for certain though they lean on it being more natural then man made. Again, the nuts took this to mean that China created a bioweapon to target America, and that the reason China had low infections and deaths was because they already had a secret cure.
I have been searching through the long list of local communist parties lately and considering joining one, as I seem to find myself doing once every year or two.
The task used to be a hard one years ago for me when I was less well versed in marxism, as I found most of them to be very similar, too much to discard one or another with ease. Now the task feels much easier after I began actively looking for their stances on modern China and anti-imperialism in general. It filters out parties to be disregarded a lot better this way.

Comrades, I went, along with about 100 other comrades, at the entrance of the education ministry (miur), we had about 10 brief interventions from comrades that spoke about various issues, there was no repression aside from 3 cop vans and full dredged riot cops at the entrance, but that’s to be expected and they didn’t dare to fight us, we demonstrated our strength and many people assisted

The “news” site is a known Neo-Nazi site and is full of deranged fascistic drivel, sometimes masked in Russian anti-westernism, but only because to the writers westernism is Judaism. Just skimming through the articles, they display a deep hatred for Jews, indigenous people, Asians, Slavs, and black people.
Also in the header of the article that is cut off in the original screenshot, they title it with being part of their series on “Agenda 2030”, which is a Neo Nazi conspiracy theory that the World Economic Forum “””Jews””” will release a new pandemic and utilize global warming to force everyone into smart cities to control them with “socialism” in the year 2030 and to reduce the population. This Reddit post summarized it fairly well, and even from the title and first 2 paragraphs you can see how utterly deranged it is.
This just makes it all the more suspicious, but I do hope it was just an honest mistake. Because while I do get being skeptical of western pharmaceutical industries, that is no justification to resort to Nazi sources and then propagate their message.

I was reading Coloniality of Power, Eurocentrism and Latin America by Anibal Quijano and it makes me sad that such a sophisticated retelling of race is basically non-existent here in (maritime) Southeast Asia.
It is often actually ignored in favour of a sort of vulgar developmentalism. Racism in it’s colonial and “post”-colonial forms are never fully interrogated and historicised, and in fact is often reproduced by the supposedly indigenous governments here.
A reason for this was the defeat (or failure, depends on how you see it) of left-wing movements in the region, by comprador reactionary forces and their Western masters.
In a way my comment history is a testament to that alienation and nihilism.
Currently in a state of utter neutrality again where I don’t know what to feel. Life is okay and safe. Everything around me does its/their job. Nothing too out of the ordinary is taking place.

Now media says that ‘the mexican president wants to nationalize the bank!’, and every old conservative that thinks mexico is a communist state goes to withdraw their deposits LMAO.

As I “reintegrate” more into society after the beginning of the pandemic the more I am just faced with an onslaught of liberal ideology and propaganda that is almost unbearable. I had a few breaking points. People I cared for (in the professional and personal senses) died and it was treated as an emotional occupational hazard, “these things happen.” FUCK YOU! Motherfucking managers keeping track of profits occasionally side-eyeing the everpiling coffins of those they’re supposed to care for and only wondering about how much the funeral’s going to cost and how much they might recuperate from a memorial fund, just fuck.
Worked in a pharmacy for a bit, too. Well, the important thing is that some of us did I guess. Many of us. Many, I’d wager, are on the verge of complete radicalization but yet lack the coherent enough ideological foundation to express it. Many more… are probably more than content to know absolutely nothing and believe absofuckinglutelyeverything. Just following orders. 🫡
One of the most jarring things was hearing from people close to me that we were lucky, that nobody (we) knew had died or gotten really ill - these were my friends and they were unaware of the connection I had to the people under my care, so I don’t blame them. “Oh right, your residents”.
I miss them. The idea that it’s just the way it is, just a hazard of the workplace - no. I did not work in hospice care. People got covid and they died, painfully, because the scum behind the industry found out that their profit margins couldn’t sustain safety for more than a couple of months without dipping 0.1% or whatever and the state did nothing, absolutely nothing to save these people’s lives.
Same, even my local “cultural aggregation center” which is pretty decent and does lords work in term of helping people in need, is full to the brink with liberalesque and europeist ideology and straight up propaganda, it’s not a case that it’s directly financed by the city. I haven’t tested the waters yet but I suspect most people are shit libs, it’s just sad

Why does stating something a elementary school kid know gets hate? Because media has made them believe that its more profitable to sell raw petrol instead of refining it 😅 back when the mexican president invested into building a refinery.
