Its a web-series created by Vivziepop, set in the same universe as her upcoming series, Hazbin Hotel.
Hazbin Hotel is a adult musical/black comedy/action/drama animated series that takes place in Hell. Hell is overpopulated, so every year special angels called Exterminators are sent from Heaven to Hell to randomly and wantonly kill any/all demons they come across.
Hell is ruled by Lucifer and the wealthy aristocratic Goetia, and then in third place are the Overlords, powerful demons that are usually former sinners who have acquired great supernatural power and influence upon death and arriving in Hell.
Charlie Morningstar is the daughter of Lucifer and the Princess of Hell. In stark contrast to her father, Charlie is an upbeat, optimistic, caring, sincere, precious and mostly peaceful. Her idea is that to stop the yearly purges of demons, she wants to start a Hotel that will act as a therapeutic resort to allow former sinners to redeem themselves and ascend to Heaven, so that way Hell won’t be overpopulated and the yearly purges will stop.
Her idea is often ridiculed and dismissed as childish and naive, yet her hotel will be bankrolled by one of the most powerful and respected and feared overlords, the Radio Demon Alastor. He almost definitely has ulterior motives, but he’s content with the humor that sinners failing to redeem themselves will bring.
Helluva Boss is more of a action spinoff about a team of for hire Assassins that will assassinate any human or even demon for the right price.
So basically it’s about a girl trying to fight back against ecofascist nonsense. Great.

Helluva Boss takes place in the same universe as Hazbin Hotel, but is a unique show. The Helluva Boss Characters are native demons, beings born and native to hell. Human souls are damned to become demon sinners or angel cherubs when they die. In the show there is an implied Hierarchy of the native born demons: Goetia demons are on the top, Hellhounds are powerful warriors, Imps are implied to be the lowest of the low. It seems that sinner souls don’t have a particular place in the hierarchy and can become overlords if they are ruthless enough, but still below the Goetia. There are 7 layers of hell associated with the 7 deadly sins.
In Helluva Boss, Blitzo (pronounced “Blitz”), an imp, is borrowing a book from a Goetia demon to kill humans. Blitzo owns a company called Immediate Murder Professionals that takes out contracts from sinner demons to kill living mortals. Blitzo’s company is himself, his adopted hellhound daughter Loona, and an imp couple named Moxxie and Millie. Blitzo indulges in the fantasy of his company is his family in a toxic manner. The theme of the show is family and how to do the best one can in a fucked up situation. Native born demons can be pro social, but the material conditions, capitalist base, superstructure ambivalent to well being, and infux of the worst people from earth makes trying to be a decent demon difficult and rare.
